August 8, 2008: BCI’S Kelvin Blair Receives Prestigious Cisco Designation

Ridgeland, Miss.—Business Communications, Inc., announced today that Kelvin Blair, a senior systems engineer based in the company’s Ridgeland, Miss., corporate headquarters, has earned the Cisco Technology Solution Specialist designation. Blair is one of only five people in the South to receive the esteemed TSS designation.

Cisco, a BCI technology partner, awards the TSS mark to partner engineers who successfully complete extensive training. Those who earn the designation must be experts who can pitch, demonstrate and design a Cisco solution within a particular technology, as well as escalate and facilitate post-sales issues during implementation of that technology. The process also helps systems engineers fully develop the skills to apply Cisco’s solutions to customers’ business issues.

According to Tom Hinds, BCI’s President and COO, continuing education to earn qualifications like the TSS designation is a crucial part of the company’s corporate culture. “Our employees are encouraged and expected to advance their knowledge and skills,” he said. “We’re proud that Kelvin took the initiative to pursue this prestigious designation with Cisco. He was already a valuable asset to BCI and having this level of expertise will certainly strengthen his and our company’s capability to serve our clients at the highest level possible.”

A Flowood native, Blair earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Belhaven College and has worked with BCI since 2004. In addition to the TSS designation, he holds numerous other certifications including the Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert-Voice. The CCIE Voice is one of Cisco’s most advanced designations and has been awarded to only 689 individuals worldwide.
